Hey, screw you guys! The best controller has always been and will always be the Wavebird, and in its place in this poll, the default GC controller. This is an indisputable fact. :D

The best part of the GC controller for me are the handles and the big face buttons. I don't like the d-pad (though games hardly ever use it), and the iffy loose analog shoulders (though not as bad as the Dualshock 3's).
oh god yusaku, i'd really liked you before you made that comment ;_; i'll forgive you for slandering the controller though, because i love you that much :D

The face button placement was weird. That's all I have to say. I can't imagine anyone playing traditional fighters on that thing

It fit perfectly in my gigantic hands and was beautifully ergonomic., perfectly tailored to the way my mind worked. That's really all there is to say on the matter. :D

The GC controller i ended up using for everything was the PSO keyboard one. Although it's the wavebird that is now permanently attached to the top of the wii.
I gotta go with SNES all the way baby. I'm sad to see the N64 as low as it is. I always liked how there was like two or three ways to hold it. Anyways I have no idea why the PSOne controller is so high. TO me the PSOne controller will always be that crappy one with no joysticks. XD Though the PS2 and PS3 controllers definitely deserve their praise since they're pretty much just Sony recycling the SNES controller with continuous modifications. :) Also since were using the PSOne dualshock controller why do we only have the junky Saturn controller with no joystick?

Compared to me, the PS1 controller was a relic from the past. It didn't break, the analog cover is still intact and DS1 and DS2's R2 and L2 are WAY BETTER than DS3's stupid triggers.
Yusaku_Matsuda70sMarch 11, 2011
Yes, the PS1 DS1 wasn't a true controller until it grew a pair... of analog sticks, that is.
360 controller would be my favorite, it sits good in your hands and the buttons are uhm how should I say, resilient? The same goes for the analog stick, it's strong, not as crappy as the Dualshock ones(maybe it's just me, but they get loose very fast..not including the PS3 one...yet). The SNES controller is probably my second fav, like the simpleness of it, every button was in instant reach. :P

TO me the XBOX controllers just feel like an enhanced (very-well enhanced) Dreamcast controller. I don't know. I wonder if I'm the only one who thinks that.

@DaiRaioh: I like the feel of the 360 controller as well as the stick placement and the analog placements, but I don't like the clicky bumpers nor the popping buttons (as opposed the traditional "soft" buttons on the PS3).
@Zero_Destiny: I agree. It's like a direct evolution. At least the 360 one (don't know much about the original one). The d-pad is in the same place, the buttons are like the same color (and letters? Not sure), the analog triggers feel and look similar. The "handles" (grip portion) are similar. What's not similar thankfully is the joystick. The stick on the Dreamcast was convex, tiny, hard to the touch, and without much grip.
The NES controller was a classic but the rectangular controller started to hurt your hands after awhile. My top picks would be the SNES controller -simple but effective, even if it wouldn't work as well for modern games, the various forms of dualshock, and the 360 controller, possibly the best of the bunch if it weren't for the awful D-pad. I was never a fan of the Dreamcast controller not ergonomic enough. The N64 controller was pretty nice although I liked the dualshock better.
Yea I know there are systems prior to the NES but I don't many of you owned a Turbografx-16 and thought it had the best controller ever. So I just went with the mainstream systems. I also know there are different controllers for each console but again, I wanted to keep it simple.
That's really all there is to say on the matter. :D
